Sporty’s Academy has compiled a list of available directories for aviation scholarships. This is not a complete list.  Potentially thousands of opportunities are available for you.

Please check  carefully for eligibility and deadlines and remember these important tips:

• Carefully review scholarship requirements to ensure eligibility before applying!
• Follow the directions carefully and consider your audience! Many scholarship reviewers are highly involved in aviation themselves.
• Write formally! Don’t ever include emojis or slang in your application.
• Make your bio shine! We all know you want to live, eat, and sleep all things aviation, but there’s more to you than flying. Highlight everything about you, especially volunteer and extracurricular activities.
• If possible, include what you will do to learn to fly if you don’t earn the scholarship. This shows that you have a plan and that you’re organized for your future.
• Don’t procrastinate! If it’s required to obtain a letter of reference, start early and don’t expect your referrals to be able to deliver a polished letter on a day’s notice
• Complete by the deadline! Many application reviewers complain about applications that are incomplete. Make sure to include everything that the application requires.

• CareerOneStop: Lots of scholarships, not just aviation
• Women in Aviation, International : Usually open mid-July to mid-October.
• The Ninety-Nines : Various aviation scholarships usually due January, April, and October
• National Air Transportation Association (NATA) : Various deadlines
• National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) : Various deadlines, usually in August
• UC Clermont: includes UC Aviation specific scholarships within one application via Catalyst. Deadlines usually in Spring semester
