NEW 56-DAY CHART CYCLE FOR VFR CHARTS

VFR chart updates to coincide with IFR chart publications

The FAA is transitioning to a 56-day publication schedule for VFR charts early next year to coincide with other chart publication cycles. The new schedule begins February 25, 2021 for all sectional charts, terminal area charts, flyway charts, and helicopter route charts.

The FAA expects the change to result in significant reductions of chart-related NOTAMS since new information will be added to charts more quickly. Also, as a result, the Chart Bulletins contained in the Chart Supplement (A/FD) will no longer be published.
